It's strange when you think about it, how we confuse our own nature with God's.
We think subconsciously that because we don't love unconditionally, that God couldn't love us.
That because we get angry and give up on people, that God could give up on us.
"You thought I was altogether like you."
My study bible has the note that this could also be translated, "You thought the 'I AM' was altogether like you."
How ridiculous!
We are made in His image, but in our minds we try to make Him in ours.
In trying to figure out how He works, we apply principles to Him. Principles that apply to us.
But we are not Pure Holiness and Love like God is.
How could we possibly compare Him to ourselves?
We are like Him, he is not like us.
Pray to God for the proper perspective on who He is, knowing that you'll never comprehend the scope of who He is or the intricacies of His nature, but also that He'd love to teach you more.
