Turn, O Lord, and deliever me.

I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with tears.
My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.
Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.
The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.
(vs 6-9)

The LORD will shield us from the storm, but we have to be willing to let God hold the umbrella.

  2. First off I like the art! Second just a thought I have been wrestling with... Does God always shield us from the storm? Or is sometimes the storm part of life on in the broken state of the world? Yes, the Lord is our rock. But winds and waves must crash over the rock in order to smooth its edges and overall form.

Struggle helps shape us I would suggest. Its not something to hide from.

Just a few thoughts. Let's discuss it... unearthing the more of the truth.

  3. i completely agree! but i also think that God will let us walk through the storm, but provide with an easier path. or at least a complete sense of peace...which in turn would make our path easier.
but! i also think that God wants us to go through storms because it is during that time that we draw closer to Him. i watched the nooma "rain" a few years ago and that is exactly what was disscused. its super interesting...you should watch it if you havent already!

  4. A agree about a sense of peace. But look at Paul and the thorn in his flesh- it was a constant struggle that he dealt with. I am not sure about an easier path either because its a narrow road that not many can walk. The Bible talks all about how Christ followers struggle and even die for the message they care (Hebrews 11). I do not see an easier way here just people devoted to the cause no matter the price. Its not an easy road and I am not sure there is an easier path other than following the world or not living a fully sacrificed life to Christ.

Yes, we grow close to God in the storm! Though, there is no easy path to growth. It is a process that takes time, attention, strength, tension, stretching, and much more.
